Custom Kitchens & Cabinetry in Barrie
Fully custom kitchens, cabinetry and millwork for homes across Barrie — designed and built in our workshop on Highway 11, a short drive north of the city.
A Barrie Cabinetmaker, Just Up the Highway
Barrie is our closest city and a large part of our work. Our workshop sits on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte, immediately north of Barrie, which means site visits, template checks and installation days are straightforward rather than a logistical exercise. For a renovation in an occupied house, that proximity matters more than most people expect.
Every piece we make is built in our own workshop on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte, between Barrie and Orillia. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is bought in as a stock unit, which is why we can match an existing moulding profile or build a cabinet to an awkward wall without compromise.
We were voted Gold winner for Kitchen Specialists and Platinum winner for Cabinets and Cabinet Makers in the CommunityVotes Barrie 2026 awards — recognition that came from the Barrie community itself.

Why Barrie Homeowners Choose Bateman
Built in Ontario, by us
Design, fabrication and finishing all happen in our Oro-Medonte workshop. One team is accountable for the whole job.
Forty years of it
Bateman has been building custom cabinetry since 1983 — more than 1,000 projects across Simcoe County, Muskoka and the GTA.
Genuinely custom
Every project is drawn and built from scratch for the space it goes into. We do not adapt stock carcases to fit.
Made to outlast trends
Premium materials and proven construction methods, specified for longevity rather than for the lowest bid.
Projects Near Barrie
A heritage home in Barrie’s east end needed a full kitchen renovation alongside custom built-ins that respected the character of the original house. We began by profiling the existing crown moulding and baseboard details, then built a new kitchen in painted maple with Häfele pull-out organizers and a full-height pantry tower.

The living room received the floor-to-ceiling built-in wall unit shown above, wrapping the fireplace with integrated display lighting, concealed media storage and flanking desk alcoves. We also built a mudroom entry system with bench seating, cubbies and closed upper cabinetry. Paul Dubé oversaw fabrication so every moulding profile matched the original millwork exactly. The project ran 16 weeks from design approval to installation.

Barrie — Frequently Asked Questions
Do you serve all of Barrie?
Yes. Barrie is one of our core service areas and our workshop is just north of the city on Highway 11, so the whole of Barrie is comfortably within our normal working radius.
Can I meet with you in person?
Yes, by appointment. We are currently operating by appointment only while we rebuild following a fire at our premises, so we cannot accommodate walk-in visits. Call us on 705-315-1010 or email customdesign@batemanfurniture.com and we will arrange a time.
How long does a project take?
Most projects run 8 to 16 weeks from design approval to installation, depending on scope and complexity. Whole-home packages take longer — a recent multi-room new build ran to 20 weeks, coordinated around the construction schedule. We give you a detailed timeline at consultation.
Do you work with designers and builders?
Regularly. We work with roughly 35 trade partners and are comfortable working from your drawings or developing them with you. Builders and interior designers make up a substantial share of our work.
What does a custom kitchen cost in Barrie?
It depends entirely on size, materials and complexity, so we do not publish a price list. We are a premium custom shop rather than a budget supplier. We will give you a firm written quote after an initial consultation, once we understand the scope.
